she left because miuccia's husband is impossible to work for.

Ahh ok, I figured Jil left Jil because the Prada Group dude was cutting corners and shit too hard but that was just my assumption.

correct me if im wrong, but isnt uniglo analogous to H&M and Zara (cheap and tawdry clothing store marketing to younguns).

so that's like saying Marc Jacobs designs for Target , or Ralph Lauren or caruso designs for Zara, or has Jill Sander always done this sort of thing??

If Uniqlo chooses to purchase quality materials, then the overall product should be nice. Depends on how they choose to run the operation, could be good, could be bad.

More analogous to Gap or AA (cheap basics) than H&M or Zara ("fast fashion"), I think.

I think it's more of a way for her to get out there and do something again and for Uniqlo who is already known for "basics" to be now lead by the Queen of Basics.

If she is taking on a serious role in this, I would trust Jil Sander, more than any designer in the industry, to make something legitimately good out of this line. Price point be damned, Jil has always been my most revered designer and I have high hopes for this, purely on the basis that she has never once disappointed me with any article of clothing she has designed.
