Be wondering about J. Crew Factory for a while, so I finally gave them a shot. I bought the end on end workshirt from regular J. Crew last season and loved the shirt. Saw that the "same" shirt was available at Factory in other colors so I ordered a few. Just got them and wow. Total trash. The fabric is absolute junk compared to the regular J. Crew version of the shirt. I'll be staying away from Factory in the future.

Just picked up the new Chippewa moc-toe boots from J. Crew. Really like them -- nice thick leather and I prefer the heel to the wedge sole of Red Wings.

    Here are some photos:

oh wow, did not like those from the J Crew photos, but really like them in yours. I too am not a fan of the Red Wing style wedge sole, nice to see a moc toe boot with a standard heel like this.

Was in store today and among the lack of anything worthwhile I tried on the indigo denim workshirt. It's a bit pricey at $138. They didn't have my size (XS) so I tried on the small. It is selvedge denim and has a nice sturdy and well constructed feel to it and a really nice dark indigo color. If they had an XS I might have copped it all the while clenching my jaw at the price tag, but sometimes you have to do that if you find something nice spur of the moment. I won't be ordering it online unless it goes on deep discount, but again if they had it while in store in my size I think I would have gotten it. Nothing else stood out. I still like the red chambray shirt they have, but I remember seeing that a few months back in their sale section for something like half off, I'll probably just wait. Hopefully once they get more stock of their F/W items it'll be more interesting. Also I'd like to see some of the Wallace and Barnes items in store, not sure if they are offered in store or not.

Need a bit of help with the sizing guys. 6ft, 155 lbs, athletic/swimmer build. 40 inch chest, 28 inch waist, circumference wise.

I'm looking to get the Bayswater peacoat after some serious debates between sterlingwear/schott/jcrew.

So...medium or large? Also is this warm enough for Toronto winters?

I know how you feel, hate when they don't have XS. Although they do have a slim fit line, I wish they had more items that were slim fit like the demin shirt, chinos, etc.

I agree, they're chinos are still not slim enough for me. That denim shirt would have been really nice in a slim. I'd like to see the Wallace and Barnes collection in store too.

I can't say for sure what size you should get, but I bought a S size of this coat last winter and I'm 5'-10" and 150 pounds. However, due to your athletic build, a M may be more appropriate. I recommend going to a store and trying on a S and M of their coats to try and gauge what you may be as this is currently an online only item.

Also, pay the extra $20 for thinsulate. It's warm enough for New York winters. I think you'll be ok.

I like the looks of that shirt too, which in the print J. Crew catalogue I received in the mail has a different price point than the other indigo shirts available. (i.e. it's priced @ $138 or something as opposed to the $98 of the denim shirts available) So it will be coming out soon, hopefully?

Yes I noticed this too. Lambswool Cable Cardigan went from $98 to $118, for example.

I was actually able to pre-order it from J-Crew. Its a Wallace and Barnes Denim Work Shirt and goes for $98. I really like the color, but it is very thick. Ive never had a denim work shirt before so I wasnt expecting that. I got it in extra small and the fit is decent but since its so thick I dont think it looks very good on me. I would soak it but it would be a shame to fade this color. If I got it taken in by a tailor it may get too hot. Im still going to keep it though and hope my opinion changes. Its probably just way too hot right now to be wearing a thick denim shirt
