I have never watched Brokeback Mountain, but I imagine it begins a lot like this.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm a terrible cowboy.

It requires a very large mirror to do that. My sexuality is quite imposing as west24's mom would testify.
I'm fifty-something ... and still haven't discovered mine in full ... likely never will ... or certainly hope I don't. There is always someting new to discover ... always.

I actually have very few female friends.

I prefer snarky, neurotic heterosexual males.

My sister is my best and only female friend besides my girlfriend.

I have tried in the past to have a platonic friendship with a couple girls but there were all fails so I've decided not to bother anymore.

IME, a female friend gives you all the hassle of a girlfriend but none the benefits.

Mine is a girl, and most of my friends dont seem to understand this...its pretty annoying. She is the only person that is not family that has been there for the past 6 years and that I can be open about everything with.

I think he's pointing out that sex changes the nature of a relationship.

I have both a guy and a girl as my two closest friends. The girl and I have fooled around on several occasions, and I still regularly get a face full of beast when we're drinking, but she's more of a guy than any guy I know, so it doesn't get in the way. I don't think that I could be best friends with a chick without some sort of sexual tension there.

That is a rather passive and borderline emasculating way of putting it. "She had sex with me" implies it was not only her fault but that you were powerless to stop it; as if she was the one showing you the ropes. Not to get too deep here but it's very interesting phrasing.

Phrasing is accurate. Sitting on my sofa watching a film, nothing unusual at all, knew the girl for about 3 years. Suddenly she starts licking the side of my face, I turn around she starts kissing me and then unbuttons my jeans at starts giving me head, she was very aggressive the whole time and I wasn't really that into it so your pretty much spot on with your analysis. It was also one of the first few times I had sex and she was much more experienced so I suppose she was kind of showing me the ropes. I really doubt I could have said no once it started, girl was crazy in bed and not really in a good way she clawed and bit the fuck out of me so much that my back and chest were all torn up and I couldn't bench the next day because my chest was all cut up.

Best friend is a girl. I've known her for 13 years now. She's the only friend that I've really kept in touch and see on a regular basis. I always ask if it's a problem when i start seeing someone. They all say no, but sometimes it becomes a problem anyway, which is stupid, because the girl has been married and divorced and is on her way to her second marriage and as others have said, if something was gonna happen, it would have by now. I'd never do anything to fuck up my one really good friendship and that includes being involved with someone that tried to put up divisions between us. I've made an effort to get to know her bf/soon-to-be-fiance too. I don't want him having any reservations about her having dinner or spending time alone with me etc.

Not best friends, but I'm really good friends with two ex-girlfriends from yesteryear. I haven't slept with either of them since our relationships ended, so while I will admit both are still quite attractive, no lingering sexual tension is there on my part. Some new girls I date find my friendship with them troubling but it's unrealistic of them to expect me to drop a friendship I've had for a decade in one case for a girl I've known for only a handful of months at most.

I think I am starting to develop feelings for mine, either they are true and I have to lower my aesthetic expectations orrrrr they are a result of the lack of women currently in my life.
