Hi there my name is Mike, just joining the forums because I want to upgrade my sense of fashion and style.
I normally wear jeans, but when I go out to have a few drinks and socialize then I might wear some slacks or chinos.
I like button up shirts, polo shirts and or course flannels!
Cheers everybody, great forum you guys have on here. Lots of great info!

    Howdy y'all.

I'm Joshua. I signed up on SF to continue absorbing the vast knowledge as well as a lot of great visual aids to use from this site especially the footwear. I'm a full-time Scottish kilts wearer by the way. I just placed an order for my first pair of oxblood AE Dalton thanks to many gorgeous pictures on this site that convinced me to get one. Great forum great people. Cheers.

Hey gents, I'm a long time lurker, forst time poster. Spent a lot of time lurking the classic menswear forums and have learned a lot. I'm based in Australia, and work in the health sector. I usually wear chinos/button down combos for work. Don't get much occasion to wear more formal attire, as much as I'd love to. My style is influenced by the Ivy/trad styles, with some contemporary influences. Other than clothes I'm interested in running, food and travel. Cheers.

    Hi
Hi Benard, welcome. I'm also a fan of the classic style and live in Melbourne. I know what you mean about $$! I'm always on the hunt for a bargain (quality for price) and will look to share them on here. Speaking of which, T.M.Lewin has a really nice tweed (brown) jacket on sale at the moment. I got it taken i, and looks a treat. Disclaimer: I don't work for T.M.Lewin :p Happy SF'ing.

    Hi All,

My name's Karl. I never needed a suit for work, but felt like getting one. So when when a sale popped up on Slickdeals, I made an impulse buy. Ever since then, I've been learning/lurking on here and created an account in case I see something I want to get in classifieds.

I hope I can contribute one day but for now I think most people here will scoff at my plebeian budget suit.

    Starting wardrobe:
-Alfani midgrey stepweave 3 piece suit
    -JM Melton captoe in burgundy
-CK sport coat for wearing with jeans at work

On another note I chose the JM for $105 over Bally Brantons in lambskin for $307. Value/cost-wise did I make the right choice?

Thanks very much shoerejuvenator. I'll pop into their city store to have a look over the weekend.

    Thanks again,

    Hey I'm Al,

I am a 25 year old college student. I am a big fan of the casual rocker style. I tend to utilize pretty much the same style for jeans (levies) and shoes (chucks) and white shirts. I am a firm believer that jackets make everything pop I am currently looking to expand my wardrobe with some leather jackets.

Hi all, I'm a woman who's married to a guy who hates "fashion" but does appreciate well made clothing and shoes. DH is blessed with a great physique and looks good in everything - it's really not fair. I joined here to learn more about men's style in order to nudge him towards some new ideas. He will never, ever want to go shopping for himself alone. He's one of those guys who makes his partner go to the dressing room for approval. I'm not sure if I should appreciate that or not.

His weakness is a beautiful handmade shoe. In the past couple of years he has bought a few from Edward Green and Alden. However on a day to day basis he wears his Redwings or Merrells. I know he's stumbled across some threads here because we went on a quest for Vass shoes while in Hungary last summer. We are headed to Italy this year and I hope I can find some good shopping tips for him here.

As for his clothing, he is very casual and wears a suit only a handful of times a year. I would be happy if he upped his game a bit stylewise and in the grooming dept and would appreciate advice on how to encourage the effort.

I'm Roy, and I'm married with a son. I'm transitioning from nursing to accounting/finance. I am working on a double major in accounting/finance and have yet to start working in the field, but I'm working toward that. I anticipate I'll be in suits daily if not business casual. Style-wise I am open to anything except what looks really out there for me.

    Hi there!

Looks like you really want your husband to start dressing well and it looks like he has started with the best things, shoes! Edward Green and Alden are some of the best shoes made so eventually, wearing those shoes will force him to consider wearing better socks, better trousers, etc. All in the hopes of flattering those shoes.

The trip to Italy should definitely provide some motivation for him, people are generally really well dressed and there are just so many options for menswear and shoes that I am sure he would be inclined to at least window shop. I would use that trip to research the good shops to visit depending on the cities you'll be going to and steer him there for that inspiration.

    Check out www.thebespokedudes.com
It is a blog by Fabio Attanasio, an Italian who really covers all the bases and it will also help to narrow down shops for you on your visit as Italy is just full of them!

Lastly, be patient as he will need to pace himself towards that sartorial evolution. All the best!

    Hello Styleforum!

I've been a lurker here for quite awhile but decided to create an account and possibly participate some.

I'm pretty active in /r/goodyearwelt on Reddit and have been trying to branch out a little bit there as well.

Initially footwear got me into higher end fashion but I enjoy almost all aspects of menswear now.

I look forward towards being a member.

I'm Carolyn and I work in the shoe industry. I am interested in men's fashion because my husband doesn't have any! My main purpose for posting on this forum is market research about shoes. What shoes do you like or don't like? That sort of thing. I hope you will help me answer those and other questions.

    Thanks!

Name's D. Very new here (new lurker, new poster) and not quite sure in which role I'll remain but I will have a few questions coming up for everyone to weigh in on.

I turn 24 tomorrow which should be fun. I work for a public university and therefore don't get paid near enough but the nature of my position gives me the opportunity to travel all over, which is quite fun. Love talking about travel, music, and food and politics, as well as tailors and watering holes in butthole parts of the world.

Hey Fashionisto/Fashionistas! My name is Sim, and I'm a Marketing Student who loves fashion! I love putting together outfits for my friends and family. My schedule is extremely busy, and have been trying to find a way to reduce my time on putting together an oufit. Luckily, I found this amazing website called JiaCollection.com, where they sell reversible clothing that can be worn 2-6 different ways, and can be worn from day to night! I have already purchased several items. Check it out, and I promise you will love it !
