    it seems like their criteria for inclusion on the list is "which cities have a lot of minority housing projects on its outskirts. lots of ugly people in those parts."

    The Loin's pretty okay. Bars, cheap ethnic eats, people watching, building SF cred with your yuppy fuck friends. Stopped feeling nearly as Loiney as 10 years ago. That stretch of Turk from Mason to Jones though, that shit is hamsterdam still.

    My wife is Japanese - born and spent the first 30 years there, still goes back regularly - and very, very particular about what she eats. She gives Hamano in Noe Valley (1332 Castro) a B+.

    What the fuck is up with Turtle Tower? That place is so busy for Chicken Pho. It is terrible compared to anything in southern California, especially westminster.
