I wear black on about a one in five ratio to browns.

Would oxblood be more flexible in color matching (clothes) than black? Grays, blues, browns.

Black shoes are essential to any wardrobe.

Black shoes are excellent just not always versatile. Every man needs a pair.

Hear hear. I wear them at least a few times a month.

I still wear black shoes and will continue to do so. While I do like a contrast shoe, sometimes I just don't feel like wearing a shoe that will draw everyone's attention directly to my feet. I do admit that I have purchased more brown and tan shoes since joining this place, but I am not shunning my blacks. Hell, I still rock the KC shiny black square toes...my massive middle finger raised to the collective known as SF. [IMG]

Black shoes have that admirable trait of not being too noticeable when worn with a grey or dark blue suit, at least it is considered best over here that no one item of apparel stands out.

Brown shoes are rather "look at me" and while I am a fan of brown shoes and indeed most of my shoes are brown, a good rotation of well polished black shoes is a foundation of a shoe wardrobe.

    Hear him!

If all you wore with business attire were brown shoes people would assume you just fell off the wheat truck.

No, you don't understand. This thread is the weekly requisite "Ooooh, look at me! I don't wear black!" (said out loud in a highly falsetto voice, with both hands up by your ears in a flappy kind of motion while high-stepping about).

Be sure to catch next week's version.

Well, that's one way to deal with honesty.

I still wear black shoes 2-3 times a week. Probably will go down to 1 or 2 in the coming summer months.

Brown and Burgundy are great, but sometimes I feel the need to wear a nice black oxford.

There is nothing at all wrong with black shoes. What a silly thread.

Glad to know that having an opinion makes me a creep. Welcome to SF, I guess.

It's cool.... some people derive their entire personal identity from a chat board.

Most people on here are a little bit more subtle and welcoming. Have a nice day.
