How to protect wool against moths?

I haven't had any wool clothes up until now, so I have no protection. I remember parents using some sort of moth poison, but it smells awful, and well - it's poison. Therefore, I don't want anything like that in my closet.

So what options am I left with? There's lots of moths at our apartment, though none in my closet, as I don't have wool clothes. What should I buy to protect my suit before I buy it? I've read that cedar protects against moths, but seems like there's lots of negativity towards it as well, including many claims that it doesn't work.
