    5.8 miles tonite.
I don't eat more or less while getting race ready for ultras. Get enough protein, rest, and fluids. Eat when you are hungry but eat healthy. You'll recover quicker and feel better. I'm mostly veggies and sometimes fish all the time. After a race I'll splurge and eat pizza or a burger.

Agreed. That's fck'd up. Most races I've traveled to have no fee on race and most ask to leave pp on race day for those from out of town. Couple races have had no "day of" pick up or extra fee for race day sign up. Good luck.

I'm strongly leaning towards skipping the race on Sunday, and actually enjoying my Saturday. I get to watch a friend of mine who lives at sea level suffer through the Boulder Ironman 70.3 at altitude and in hot weather!

Thanks guys for the pointers. 7 miles of roads last night.

I am going to wait to signup and see how some early weeks of training go as the race fee does not increase closer to the race.

4 miles on roads last night. Much like @jbarwick I was aiming for a flatter route too but still ended up with 400 feet of climbing.

We're heading to DC this weekend and I was really excited for some fast flat runs at sea level (we'll be near the Mall). Unfortunately, with a toddler and lots of family, I don't think I'll get the chance.

    3.1 this morning.

Fueco, I've never run a non-local race, so not being able to pick up my packet on race morning has not been an issue. I understand why an organizer would choose not to, but they should at least offer to mail packets to out-of-towners.

I ran about 8.5 yesterday (plus another 3 or so walking), mostly on roads and concrete paths.

I headed out to Boulder Reservoir in the morning to watch the start of the Ironman 70.3 race, then I ran home (6.5 round trip) and headed out to run/walk with my wife and our dog. Good times on the hottest day of the year so far (I saw temps up to 96).

7 road miles yesterday, 12.7 trail miles today with 2,365 ft gain to cap off a 51.9 miles week. Felt pretty good today even though the heat was rough. I used the "Trail Run" setting on my watch today and it alerts you for not only every mile but also every 250ft of ascent. I need to turn that setting off.

4.25 mile loop on roads tonight. 745 feet of gain. Felt like crap. Slow and some ankle pain.
