5.9 miles today in the first taste of summer heat. 93 degrees with bluebird skies. About 2.5 miles into the run reminded me of what last summer was like.
Good to start getting acclimated, only going to get hotter. 95+ I start breaking out the "ice sock".

I've only had a handful of runs in 90+ weather, and it was brutal each time.

Botched my tempo run this afternoon... 8 miles with about three at tempo (it was supposed to be 2x4 miles at tempo plus warmup and cool down - my legs rebelled!).

For the first time since resuming running last week, I was able to do 4 miles with a continuous run. I am undergoing intense hip/leg therapy 3 times a week. It's not fun. My run, today, was not pretty, but I did it.

Saturday morning run: 4 miles A better run than yesterday. Getting my legs back after 4 months of not running is a good feeling. Because of the hip tightness, my stride is short; I'm not breaking any speed records. At least I felt good when I was done.

Am signing up of a 5 K race on the 4th of July and for the Crim 10 mile run in Flint which takes place in August. I've got goals to shoot for.

10.4 mile trail run this a.m. Good run and good trail.

Way to go CP. Most people would have probably just given up running. Good luck with the races.

I am thinking of signing up for the Crim as well. I always know a bunch of people who run it but have never done so myself.

I got in 8.3 miles yesterday morning and 19.8 miles today. Part of my Father's Day gift was being able to sleep in and go for a lunch run. Usually, if I want a run of that length I need to get up and be out the door before 5:00 a.m. Today I didn't hit the road until just before 8:00 a.m.

The Crim Race is a lot of fun and is well organized. It is unique to start and end a race on brick pavement! The race course goes through the UM-Flint campus, Carriage Town (the historical district), and through some of Flint's gorgeous neighborhoods. (In spite of the woes of that city, there are, still, some great neighborhoods.) The race has a strong, long tradition behind it. Many have been in it for over 30 years. There are hills! All along the route, there is crowd support, jazz bands, marching bands, polka bands, lawn sprinklers aimed at the street, etc...

Today, after a two hour leg/hip therapy (torture!) session, I ran 3 miles at an 8 minute pace.

9.6 this morning and 4.5 at lunch time. It was a nice sunny day but not too hot (low 70s) and no humidity to speak of so thought I would take advantage and get an extra run in this afternoon.

Mark today as a triple for me... I added another 4.8 miles to the tally after work.
