I have 100+ ties so that box is too small. I actually just use 3 thick plastic hangers....

Three purpose designed hangers, each with about 40 ties on individual bars - unrolled. works well.

I had the builder take the height of a standard drawer and cut in half to make two drawers. I fold the ties and lay them in the drawers.

I own too many ties, that box couldn't handle my bow ties. All of my ties are hung on mounted racks in my closet. My bow ties are on two cedar hangers that utilize plastic hang tags like you see in a cheap store for hanging ties on a rack.

Over the last few years I've acquired some wool ties. With these, I loosen the tie and leave it knotted around the hanger of the suit or jacket that I would wear it with. While some people would balk at this, I find these heavy wool ties do not hold up well when you try to undo.

Lets not forget there is also the garbage when you needs an easy method for making room.

I store mine in ties sleeves laid out in boxes... My father uses hangers and *pulls* them off.. I gave him a few quite expensive ties and they have been destroyed by his method!!

I hang my ties on a closet hanger with several rows in which to put the ties on. I currently own only six ties, so space isn't a problem yet.

I just roll them up and stick them in a plastic box. You have to try particularly hard to damage ties.
