I like the lavender with the blue of the jacket. My preference would be for darker trousers.

The jacket is actually part of a "blazersuit". I might try pairing the shirt with the full suit, but then it will need a tie.

I might also try this shirt with jeans and a very casual (e.g. linen) jacket, as per Elio's suggestion.

Yep, linen would go well with that.

Can someone please tell me what the official definition of "blazersuit" is?

^ This. Mine is a SuitSupply "La Spalla" in a blue flannel, one shade lighter than navy, with brown horn buttons.

The real, authentic blazer-suit has patch pockets. Mine are flap. But, like Basil Fawlty, I think I got away with it.

I'm ambivalent about the name but a big proponent of the concept. But I like my suits to be casual to begin with, so the concept is well suited to me.

Definitely like the concept, too. Manton's original one is obviously an excellent choice for it.

Had a little extra work in the city before heading to my real job today, so I suited up. Now off to meet the wife for drinks!

@mcobinad, check out @Treviorum just a few posts up. His DB suit is rather slim fitting, yet there is nothing straining or constricting about the look. I think that kind of fit would be both more flattering and comfortable for you.

Oh, and since you seem like a guy who lifts, you'd probably need to go MTM or bespoke.

If it helps, you can definitely see how the jacket doesn't comply to my lower right shoulder. ;)

This is an old Suitsupply, not sure if the cut hasn't changed since then.

I think the issue as well is the angle of his shots. it is distorting his whole body
