It's generally desirable. I love heritage fabrics - I like weight and a bit of scratchiness in my tweeds, and I like heavy leather. That said, the market is generally trending towards lighter weight, softer, fabrics, is large part because the modern consumer wants that. I think that it's important to separate personal preferences from any measure of general "desirability".

I don't think it's all that important to separate the two. They are just two different kinds of "desirable". What people who sell clothes find desirable is often not what I find desirable. But to me it's still desirable. heh

I personally would not wear poly in a suit but there are many things you can do with it. Especially from womenswear perspective.

One of my coats from NMWA is all poly and its awesome. The Monitaly Riders coat is a wool poly blend and its also awesome.

And I used to be a major poly haeter.

Poly/wool blends I am less harsh on in direct proportion to the amount of polyester in them. [IMG]

Photographed by the staff photographer at Liberty, one of the many menswear shows in Las Vegas this week along with MAGIC, Project and others. Wearing a Ring Jacket suit ordered from the Khaki's of Carmel trunk show in San Francisco and measured by Mr Sasamoto of Ring Jacket. The fabric is a navy wool twill by Loro Piana. Tie EG Cappelli and shoes John Lobb Wallace.
