PS to my fit #88: I think my new suit would go really well with Tibor's hat.

Thanks awfully @An Acute Style . The trousers are a little long again, even though I had them shortened two inches a while back because I am shrinking as my discs go to Disc Heaven (or wherever Degenerative Disc Disease sends them to), since I am also constantly losing weight.

Rather than having any of my trousers taken in any more or shortened any more, I am now (slowly) having suspender buttons sewn into them.

For fans of old labels, here's the label inside the trousers:

There is also a rubberized strip around the waist (that says "Hebden Cord" over and over again) to help keep your shirt tucked in. On a large enough screen you can see the pockets are made from some sort of very heavy duty woven mesh material (and I once stuck my hand in the pocket without noticing I was bleeding and the blood stain did not come completely out).

Hebden Cord, like so many manufacturers in the UK, used to make the most wonderful things imaginable but now, Hebden Cord, like so many old firms in the UK, is gone forever (through no fault of their own).

Having spent the first half of my life in the pre "Official Preppy Handbook" (which is a joke book not a fashion book) era I think synthetic blends are the best things there ever were or ever will be. Like Jonathan's neighbor said to Jonathan in "The Graduate", "I have one word for you, Plastics".

I've always put my scarf around my neck with both ends being equal then put one end (or the other) over my shoulder. It's what almost all men used to do when I was younger. In recent years, I have seen men wearing their scarfs in the same ways ladies do, which always looks odd to me.

But then, wearing brown rather than black shoes with grey or blue also looks odd to me. I actually tried wearing brown shoes with grey flannel trousers and a brown tweed jacket twice, but both times I only got three blocks from the house before I felt so odd I went back to the house and changed to black shoes.

One of @Tibor 's several businesses, Engel & Co Hatters in San Diego CA, makes those hats. If you want one you should order one. I've seen the hats in person. They are very nice hats.

    More high rise trousers.
I do not wear these black trousers that often, it is a pity since I'm quite happy with them.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I love the fit of your pants. It has inspired me to buy higher rise pants. I'm looking into adding suspender buttons at the moment as well. Thanks for showing us how it is done.

I think the problem with the first picture is that outfit is very formal and something such as a hamburg would be more appropriate. That same hat looks great with this suit. Also, from a photographic standpoint the point of view on the previous picture makes the hat look bigger than in this picture and how it would look in person.

Second go around for this grenadine tie. I like the colour, still wish it was wider though.
