I note with only a soupcon of jealousy the postings of all you fine gentlemen, while I am stuck wearing jeans, polo shirts, and sneakers for the nonce, as I have to perform physical therapy exercises twice a day, and see my physical therapist three times a week.

However, a week from today, I will have the excuse to become a peacock again, as I will be attending the book launch party for Nathaniel Adams' and Rose Callahan's new book, "We Are Dandy". (My husband and I were interviewed and photographed for the book, but, alas, we ended up on the cutting room floor, or its book editing equivalent.) It should bring out all the peacocks in Manhattan, or a critical mass of them, certainly. Something to look forward to, to be sure, even if I will still be toting a walker to get around (an accessory that I should be rid of shortly after Thanksgiving, one hopes).

Good to see that you are doing well sir. I do hope the event that you and your husband will be attending will be an enjoyable one. Get well soon.

Very nice take on the mixed 3 pc suit sir. I meself have struggled with pairing a brown top with a grey waistcoat whilst wearing navy trousers, but you pulled it off very well. Love the shoes too.

Curious to see your post (and the book). You know there can be some really stylish canes out there, though I do hope for temporary use only

Went to Dapper Day at Disneyland. Probably one of the only tailored people there, considering most people go "in costume". I prefer to use it as an excuse to break out my true vintage clothing. I normally do a modern interpretation of 1930's illustrations, but this time I went fully vintage.

1940's Suit (no tailoring, pants length is perfect!), custom denim spearpoint shirt, 1930's tie and pin, eBay-ed AE woven spectators.

Check out my other friends' outfits and photography from the event on my blog! Again, it's not the best event to go to in tailoring, but my friends and I like to show people how its done ;)

Plus there are a few well dressed attendees that I was able to photograph as well! Think of it as a low-key, California Pitti Uomo.

Dapper Day is twice a year. For some reason, it's almost always on an unseasonably hot day.

Even on this sad day mourning the loss of great, great artist and good human and stylist Leonard Cohen, we need to dress.

On my way out I changed my mind and put on an other overcoat; the blue one. But I'm really not sure if it is a better choice over the grey. What do you think?
