I'd like a bit more oomph/roll to the collar, but everything else is fantastic.

    Good evening sirs,

Still nervous about posting.. Sportcoat today. It's quite an odd colour. It is a grey POW check with a green, red, & blue overcheck. I'm not sure if you can see it clearly, but I tired my best to show the texture on the photos below. Trousers have a single pleat and plain bottoms. Weather was oddly weird today and there was a sandstorm on the way home, but nothing serious though. Hope you like it. Shoes are black derby boots and accessories are gold.

@Hal Freeman Not so happy with that tie; it's too dominant with that outfit. Why not something solid, burgundy, green or navy grenadine?

Three Days of Dbs is up on my blog!

I'll post the others over the next few days!

Day One: Outfit inspiration was Polo Ralph Lauren.

Jacket is a vintage 1970s-80s one from Nordstrom house label and the tie is from the 1930's! I admit that the contrast between jacket and pants could have been stronger, with some cream pants or something. And yes, my collar is small; its from H&M!

Good day sir @Roy Al ,

Good input regarding a solid tie, I honestly was deciding between that tie and a navy grenadine tie actually!Thank you for the advice though, I am glad you like it.

    With many thanks,

    Hal

Lovely outfit sir, perhaps burgundy shoes to match the red in the tie? Those wholecuts look amazing if I may say.

Thanks. The tie is brown-ish, I'd say there is no red in it. Though burgundy shoes are quite universal so I think they would work just as well.

The weather in NYC is to be a bit cooler than average today and tomorrow, at least, so, while the weather remains mild, I return to suits. I've not worn today's suit in a couple of months - today's attire is a preview of the upcoming fall.

    Suit - RLPL
    Shirt - BB
    Tie - Drake's
Cufflinks - Metropolitan Museum of Art
Braces - Trafalgar, via Paul Stuart
    Vintage watch chain
Shoes - Bergdorf Goodman house brand

    1. I enjoy the televangelist style poses, thumbs-up in one hand + give me just five easy installments of 59.99 with the other hand
    2. I enjoy the emulsion of the image, slight 1980s CRT tube effect enhances the feeling that I'm watching a televangelist on TV
    3. I enjoy the slight moire effect on the checked jacket from afar, further enhancing the feeling that this is, in fact, a cathode ray tube
    4. I enjoy the fit of the jacket
    5. I enjoy the recurring theme of high waisted pants
    6. In toto, I find that I overwhelmingly enjoy the 1980s themed photos from a distance more so than I enjoy the actual, color-true article up close. I find the colors jarring and the pairings extreme in the up close images

I was impressed with the 'doily hanky' made by @bienluienapris for the Subtly Odd FC and tried to fashion one myself from a piece of Middle Eastern table linen. Worn today for the first time with a New and Lingwood tie, which was recently unearthed in a local charity shop.

I actually like that one better. The color and shape makes it look interesting, but not like you just stuffed a doily in your pocket which, to be honest, bien's looked like to me.

Thank you - but it's a bugger to work out what to wear it with...

Is this a Land's End tie? If so, may I ask your thoughts on it?
