I don't like any cardigans and have never owned one. They are not like pants as I'm sure you realise.
To me they are pointless. Take a sweater. Cut it open down the middle then attach buttons to rejoin the two sides that you just cut open. Obviously being silly there but their appeal is completely lost on me. Like Academic said, it's something I associate with my grandad along with an obligatory bag of toffees. Or else those pathetic wimpy floppy haired losers from the eighties who were into jangly pop like The Smiths and Lloyd Cole and the Commotions.
Worn under tailored clothing they look too incongruous to my eye. I'm no big fan of waistcoats / three piece suits either but they fall into line better as they are usually if not matching then in the same family of fabrics (worsted, tweed etc) as the jacket or suit.

I realize the utility of an extra layer in colder climates which I don't need where I live. If I lived in a colder clmate I'd much rather wear an unseen undershirt than a cardigan. I have a few v neck jumpers but they rarely see the light of day, and again, never under a suit. There's a reason they put nerdy accountant Cyril Figgis from Archer in a Rick Santorum sweater vest under his suits.

    Like, wow.

(Regarding cardigans, depends how you wear them, and what they are. Some are frumpy, some are not. Some jeans are for dads, some are not [excepting possibly hipster dads]).

Cheers, @Caustic Man - any thouhghts about today´s fit?

That jacket is gold, @An Acute Style - i might have paired it with different trou, though. I think the "oatmeal" doesn´t pair well with the green / blue blackwatch tartan.

Very nice outfit, @bienluienapris - wouldn´t change a thing here.

    Lovely tie / suit combo, @blekit !

Killer shine on the shoes, @Gerry Nelson - how do you work your magic here?

I'm in the pro cardigan camp. And with that I mean sleeveless with buttons. What I really don´t like in the sleeveless v-neck pullover. It just covers the front and hides the tie and shirt. The buttons are essential in my book.

    Nuff said for now.

Here is day 2 in the easter week and day 2 of the purple sleeveless cardigan. I give you yesterday.

SC - Zegna in a cash/wool flannel fabric.
    Tie - Boggi
    Cardigan - Loro Piana cashmere.
    Shirt - MTM
Trousers - Luxire in VBC flannel.

    Grazie mille.
This actually sounds more like Jon Snow's accent in my ears.
Nice. If you want to dial it down a bit more, a brown grenadine also works very well with red striped shirt and navy jacket.
A sleeveless cardigan is a vest, no? Anyway, great fit!

Well I usually use the term vest but I feel that some people think about the vest that comes with a three piece suit and not knitwear. In swedish it's vest in my vocabulary.
    In short vest=sleeveless cardi.

Thank you! A dab of polish, a drop of water and keep spreading it to build micro-layers - that will give you the initial shine. To freshen it, buff with an old nylon stocking. I don't regularly shine my shoes once the initial shine is there.

It's impressive but when are you going to get round to finishing the whole shoe?

@bienluienapris , love the spectators. Great fit.

@blekit , the shoes are too light for that. Need to go darker.

@Dennis Walter , hard to say without seeing the whole thing but the top looks ok. Shirt might be too formal for the rest.

@Anden , very nice. I'm digging the lesser contrast between the jacket and trousers in this case.

You can't see them, but there's a pair of black shoes down there.
