Yeah, absolutely. But medium gray would be quite nice.

It would. Just not as an odd jacket.

Looks good Murl, but I think more contrast between shirt & tie is needed. This could be one occasion were a white shirt might be better?

Navy blue suit: (OTR – no alterations apart from hemming and shortening sleeves) obtained a few years ago from Sam Disano; now retired
    Shirt: Boston
    Tie: unknown
    Shoes: Brando

Gray jacket: Cambridge (OTR – no alterations apart from sleeves shortened)
Blue Trousers: Cambridge (OTR – no alterations apart from cuffs)
    Shirt: Daniel Hechter (OTR)
    Tie: unknown
    Shoes: Loake

I have just noticed that the iPad makes the jacket and coat look the same colour. You’ll have to take my word for it that there’s a nice contrast between the two. I think my wife has a camera so I’ll see if that is any better.

Hello everybody, I hope it's OK if I join in. I've been reluctant until now because I'm hopeless with cameras; but I happened to bump into Coxsackie the other day and he encouraged me to post my fits.
So here I go - and humble apologies if I've stuffed up the spoilers and everything goes pear-shaped (and if so, it's all Coxy's fault.......). Trust me, I found this really hard to input the first time - so crossed fingers as I press the submit button.

Eh, oh well. It's definitely the lighting. You definitely wouldn't mistake it for grey IRL. Here it is in the sun last year.

Hmmmm. Kamakura has a great roll, but obviously not the same shirting quality. I think all my "fancier" BDs are Borelli, sorry that is all the info I have.

Thanks! I thought you mentioned at least one more but who knows. I will probably try Kamakura very soon.

@Murlsquirl the jacket is definitely NOT grey, but it definitely looks it in certain lighting. In any event, I likes it.

@justinkapur is that the silk/linen (70/30 I believe) Vanda? If so, how do you like it? I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on the other colorway offered...though this one looks better than I would have imagined based upon the site's pics.

Thanks man. All I can say is that in person, you would never mistake it for grey in any lighting. Ian (@brillopad) or anyone who has it will def confirm....Ian was actually wearing the same one when I saw him last week. My photo skills is whack.

Teba again, but i think that a darker pocket square would have been better...

Can confirm that @Murlsquirl is not colorblind. Here's mine Definitely a kind of wheat/tan color.

My jacket (and trousers) are definitely brown. They are brown and tan mini-hounsdtooth cotton from Brooks Brothers, as is the blue PPBD shirt. The tie is from Tie Bar and is much wider in reality than the dimensions on the Tie Bar website. It is so wide that it reminds me of the ties that Geoffrey Booza-Pitt wore. Squarextraordinaire pocket square, Allen-Edmonds cognac Lombards, and somewhere under there are a tan alligator Trafalgar belt and tan Gold Toe argyle socks.

(Yes, cotton wrinkles easily, but it's early and it's already around 85F here today but it's February, so I can't go swanning around wearing seersucker or Madras.)

There do appear to be some fit issues. Aside from shirt sleeves being too long, those jackets don't sit well on your shoulders or around the neck. Big gaps.
