if his lifestyle permits it, why should he change?

NYR I back the beard. I'd personally trim a little just to make it even and a little cleaner, but would not get rid of it unless I had to.

Derek, you have excellent potential. If you show a little more imagination on your tie and pocket square choice, you could definitely place yourself in Styleforum hall of fame before long.

Choice of tie and shirt immaculate. Tie looks a bit like a Battisti one I wanted a while ago. Those are quite thick tonal stripes, or are they herringbone, cant tell really at the moment?

thanks a million k! I definitely need to step out of my comfort zone. Its gonna take some playing around, and a few bucks spent on some patterned PS. And probably a few dozen emails to spoo and pocketsquare guy. ;)

I was going to comment on a few of the nice fits today, but am overwhelmed by the virtual flatulence of Octavian's posts in this and other threads.

Derek, could we get a close up of your ring? Looks interesting. :) Nice trousers, think you need something like a blue n white polka-dot tie with that outfit. :D

Excuse the crappy picture, it's all I could manage.
Earlier people had commented on how my tie knots and tie widths weren't proportional to my lapels, I think this Robert Talbott knit tie is more suiting.

    Excellent!

I love these complex combinations of options and good clothes!

It is very hard, it's great work!

The simple blue or gray suit with a dark tie and a light scarf and white (blue) shirts - will always look better. This is a proven option. But it is too simple, though good. Always use it boring. This is a basic, very good and strong option for 70% of cases.

In the remaining 30% (when the situation allows it) - you want something more sophisticated. Something creative.

How is your very good version!

It is obvious that such complex options - like you - require a lot of effort, a lot of knowledge. It is always dangerous and exeperimental very well - when he can.

Do you - it turned out! I love it! Respect you for courage, work, creativity, patience, and taste! Thank you!

Congrats on the weight loss, SB. And don't think I didn't notice the pocketsquare matching the face. That's next level :)

    holy fuck, fantastic.

if you had told me about the tie and ps beforehand i would have said don't do it, but it works. in fact, you could stuff a dead pigeon in your pocket and that suit would make it look great.
