Thanks for all the thumbs yesterday.

So many patterns. 4 pattern outerwear and 4 pattern bingo underneath. I guess 10 including the socks and strap.

I concluded some time ago that it's probably better just to block members who continually post inappropriately but aren't actually breaking any rules that would make the management intervene.

As edited, this very accurately reflects how I feel. I choose combinations that please me, both in terms of color and textures. I'm fortunate to have a deep quiver (though I suppose some of that is as much due to hard, long hours thrifting as it is to luck). And I like to have fun with it and challenge myself. Sometimes that's within the SF aesthetic, sometimes it's not. Sometimes I post, sometimes I don't. But I'm certainly better (and hopefully still improving) dressed now than before, and I have you all to thank for that.

    So, uhm, thanks.

    +1. How long to Octoberfest??

Come on now AAS. Surely you've been around Styleforum long enough to know that it's against the law to question Tibor's giant cartoon chapeaux. And whatever you do, don't mention the word 'costume' or he'll put a hit out on you!

Hello, thank you for your honest and sincere question. I will try and answer it to the best of my abilities. The fedora is without a doubt the largest I have ever owned. In an open crown it is a colossal 6 1/2 inches tall. When creased it is about 5 1/2 inches tall. That is too tall for me when I design my custom hats. For my custom hats I keep it 5 7/8 to 6 inches in an open crown, and 5 inches to 5 1/4 when creased. In my personal opinion, I feel this very large hat does not look to big on me, in-fact I feel quite gallant when wearing it. I do feel that it keeps within the proportions of my aesthetic. With that said, it is a high quality hat that was made in the 1970's, so it certainly exercises a more Jaunty and Cavalier attitude than your standard classic fedora. Even with its vibrant panache, I do believe it still maintains an authentic regal elegance.
