SS has some interesting non-navy blue suits; I'm assuming that's one of their Sohos. At least, I was thinking about a very similar one myself but thought it would be too bright a shade for a DB. It looks good here though. I'm eyeing up the birdseye Napoli at the moment.

Shirt is actually pale pink; lighting's made it appear a bit lilac in the full-length shot. It's also new & unwashed/unironed so apologies for the slightly wonky collar as a result...

ETA: just realised that this is now one of my oldest ties since I got rid of a couple of the ones I bought in the late-80s/early 90s ones a few months ago. This one is about 20 years old.

Anthony Wiener ended his career with a shot very much similar to this if I recall correctly.

    Great combination, though.

Sorry, AAS. If I had remembered that had made a prior comment about the tie I would not have said anything, Don't want to harp on any one item. I think my main issue was the light blue color. I find ties that heavily feature light blue very hard to wear, often because I am wearing a light blue shirt. I also don't like how it exactly matches with the lapel knot, but that's just my personal preference.

That is a very good point about the black knit. It works with certain suits as much as it does with a grey or brown tweed herringbone odd jacket. I guess that is why it is such a versatile piece. Although I think it would work here, a better choice might be a solid green or burgundy tie, but with some texture. It's possible a different repp with wider stripes in some combo of green/red/blue could work.

AS, wow, you must literally own every black watch tartan clothing item in existence[IMG]
Depending on how your green sweater (which looks grey here) matches up with the green in the tartan I'd suggest a different colour of trousers to avoid all that green and blue. But that's just me.

I like this, ETB, but I think a non-blue, complementary square would work better (although I admit it's a bit tough to see the square from the pic provided).

    Excellent!

Yep, this is the Soho blue plain. It's a very interesting colour, but a bit hard to capture. I'd say it's somewhere in between the first and the second picture. Their birdseye fabrics are really nice, but I can't bring myself to buy anything from suitsupply in the UK when I can get it for 25% cheaper in the rest of the EU, due to the exchange rate.

Incidentally, I really like your suit! I'm a big fan of three piece suits, and particularly the double breasted vest kind. Unfortunately, they're very hard to find outside of MTM/bespoke.

Thanks! Yeah, DB waistcoat 3pcs are rare, though I think SS is doing a few. Mine is bespoke Ede & Ravenscroft, from a good number of years ago. I did get it tweaked a couple of years ago, though. IIRC, Ede put out some in their RTW collection a year or two after I commissioned that one. I'm sure I'd be lying if I put their inspiration down to that though. [IMG]
