It's been a while, but slowly the light is returning to the polar zones; from dusk to dawn.

Is that the Indigo Panta grenandine from a few years back? I had one that died an unceremonious death due to velcro aback a seat on a train from D.C. to New York. It was a year this past December. I held a memorial a few weeks ago.

Apologies for the x post from Friday Blues Challenge. Just want to get it out there.

    Tie- Cornelianni
    Suit- RLauren
    Shirt- Paul Smith
    Links- Mulberry
    Socks- Wolsey
    Shoes- C & J Weymouth

I do appreciate the issues at hand- blue on blue, stripes, white shirt etc. I had other options such as plain blue suits, a dark blue shadow stripe suit , blue shirts and a host of blue ties but decided to roll this way. Just saying...

Thank you mimo, it is true. I have only seen the midnight sun for many months. I'm not surprised, just pale.

I haven't seen a waistband like that before. Can you show some detail pics of it? Here or in a PM or new thread. The height of it looks like it would be comfortable and, give good drape with the suspenders. Is that the purpose?

I have very similar shirt but have never had the guts to wear it. You've inspired me to give it a go sometime. I don't think I'll be able to pull it off as well as you do, but you've certainly given me some ideas about how to make it work.

From the venerable, and IMHO extremely underrated, British tie makers Holliday & Brown. Alas they are no more after being bought up by some Italian fashion brand....

It's overall quite a snappy look. There are such things as StyleForum nit-picks...which I will not go into here. But even to a casual observer, your shirt cuffs are WAAAAAY too long....so long, I can't even see where the suit sleeves should land. As I appreciate the fact that you have the "inseam" to show off a three-piece, I do have to ask what occasion it is for. There are some business situations where it would definitely not be a good idea to wear it.

    (1) You're right about the shirt, of course. This was quite hastily put together. Independently of that problem I've also put on a small amount of weight in my middle since I bought this suit about five years ago, so the fit in that area is a bit worse than it used to be.

    (2) You wrote: "I do have to ask what occasion it is for. There are some business situations where it would definitely not be a good idea to wear it"

I'm a university professor. That's what I wore to work yesterday. It's pretty typical for me, actually, especially on days when I'm lecturing. Took the photos once I got home yesterday (one reason why there's less natural light than I would have liked).

You're quite astute to ask about the context, which isn't always considered, and I'm glad that you did. That's why I don't wear a pocket square. I like them and would love to wear them, but they would be out of bounds on my campus. I'm not sure that even my tenure could save me if I wore one ...

My sincere thanks for taking the time to comment. It's very much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Ac
