Google for shooting socks or breeks:

So the only problem with my plus fourths (no knickerbockers) is that they are maybe 1-2'' too long for me

I did not forget Cooperalls; I specifically ignored them! Plus, they are derived from trousers, not knickerbockers. They are now closely related with inline hockey and ringette, making them, obviously, inferior. Interesting sock fact, to get even further off topic, Don Cherry recently explained, during Coach's Corner, that the reason Boston wears yellow socks, not black, is because Cheevers said the black socks on his defencemen made it harder to pick up the puck in the air, so Cherry switched them to yellow. With Cooperalls, they would have to be all yellow, or change colour part way, looking even worse.

And that last picture still sings, I think you meant to say. You got an extra t stuck in there.

In that case, I wouldn't wear them outside a country, and likely sporting/shooting/working context. I would not imagine there is any tradition of wearing them in the city. But, it seems you like them and want to wear them, so you should do it as well as possible. I think yours likely need to be tapered more, as well as shortened. There is a lot of excess fabric causing that bulge. Narrowing and shortening will both help wit that.

Hmmm. Well, then I guess you need better socks and to get the plus fours hemmed to the proper length.

Question, though: Are you going shooting today?

Funny that the Bruins went back to black socks for their 3rd jersey kits.

No, you didn't. But I know you felt like you did, so that's the most important thing. :)

Quote:Seeing the puck in the air is not nearly as important as it would have been 30+ years ago. Now, primarily, goalies read the stick. That's why a lot of sticks are white, and guys use white tape - it hides the blade angle against the ice. The shots are too fast to rely on tracking in the air. That, and the purpose of third jerseys is to sell more jerseys, so they have to make sure people like the look of the uniform when they see it.

Then the cooperalls wouldn't have to be all yellow now would they.[IMG]

I was just having fun anyway because it's freaking cooperalls. Didn't mean to derail the thread, and certainly don't need lessons on hockey, sorry to the rest of you, especially you SB

LOL...thought he was wearing knee braces for a second! It would be funny if a stipulation of WAYWRN was that you had to take photos in your office/around other people because this seems to be an example of trying too hard if he isn't actually going shooting. But it looks cool...just don't think its appropriate for the setting portrayed.
