Lapels are weird, tie is a bit oversized to me, but it's not a complete abomination or anything.

Maybe it was the toilet in the background.

PB was right, in my opinion - tie is more royal than navy so I think it doesn't work.

I wouldn't buy the first suit just based on the lapels. The dude does not abide. I probably wouldn't have bought the 2nd suit because of the button stance. I don't mind 3 button jackets, but I'd need it to be a bit higher. Shoulders also look a little wonky on you. Failures? I wouldn't go that far. I bet a skilled dresser would look great in it if it were tailored a bit. But again, don't ever listen to me because I dress horribly.

Honestly, if dudes were telling you that what you were wearing was a complete sh*t show, then I think that is an overreaction. I'm not going to bother to go back and read the comments, but I will say that I have seen a LOT worse. Of course, I have seen a LOT better too, but we are all working at improving.

    Higher? Really?

Get better pics, at about chest level, of the second one. I think it looks pretty good. Is it patterned? If so, what pattern?

First one is OK. I prefer a basic notch lapel. Not sure what that is.

Yeah, the center button looks like it is just above navel height. If I'm keeping that top button undone then I want the center button higher.

If you think you were crucified you have no idea.

I'll say it again because clearly it's going in one ear and out the other. If you're going to wear a navy tie with a navy suit it is FINE, but it isn't the best choice. Your problem is that tie isn't navy. Also if you supposedly bleed conservative, a short (fashiony) single breasted suit with peaked lapels (arguably fashiony) is the furthest thing from conservative.

^^^ Ah yeah, the jacket is a bit too short. Didn't look closely enough to notice that before. That's another reason I wouldn't wear it. However, it's not insanely short. I stand by my statement that I have seen a lot worse.

Opposed to a navy pindot or a repp tie with navy in it? If you already have those, great.

I think they'd look better with mid grey or charcoal suits but I think you'd be fine to also throw them on under a navy suit.

what are good options for a solid color, from the Navy/Blue shade family? are slate blue ok? Royal I think has too much of a dark contrast.

Oh no, Sir. You already have my utmost respect. I've seen you crucify people and what I got this morning was just a slap on the wrist. Oh shoot, I didn't see your comment about that. That royal will be a harm one to tame.

Grade: C The tonalities of the blues clash
Grade: B Not excellent, but perfectly fine
Grade: B-/C The tie has an indigo cast which doesn't work as well with the suit
Grade: D Tie fails all by itself
