No, that was not my question, but it's interesting how you guys kept bringing him to the discussion and try to compare my arguments to his in a way to ridicule my own logic. I'll try to get past this, but this is my last post on this matter, expressing myself and defending myself at the same time is too exhausting.

There are suits and there are casual suits, there are dress shirts and there are casual "dress" shirts. IMO, you're being too simplistic when you say that a dress shirt is appropriate for every suit.
Again, I wasn't questioning your taste, I was questioning your logic on choosing one over another and you answered that it's simple a question of what you like with no logic behind it, so I got my answer. Thanks.

had you asked this in the beginning you wouldve saved yourself a fuckton of time. I never ridiculed your logic, i just disagreed with it. god forbid that right?

anyway...when i need an opinion on what solid navy tie to pair with a light blue shirt and solid grey suit, i know where to go for advice.

    This bears a repeat...

You may not believe me but we had a girl (who looked a lot like she ^^ did at that time) working with us until recently. The girl who worked with us was in her mid 30s and still had it going on...she was married with kids though. [IMG]

If you agree with me, nice, if you disagree with me, better. This is a discussion forum, if we agree on everything, there's no discussion.
If you've no logic to expose, I can't understand what you do here. God forbid that, right?

SB - i liked your fit, BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BEARD!!! :cloud:
    ---

i dont think dereks suit is a casual suit. i think its a loud suit. its not thick or tweedy, it doesnt have patch pockets or tons of stitching, its not country looking, its just a loud city suit. i cant think of any OCBD not looking ridiculous with it. imo there would be no coherency.

its not any easy suit to wear, and i dont love the tie he chose, but with white shirt and no tie, i thought it was great. with a light blue shirt i could love it. or a navy tie. or lots of things, but not an OCBD. or any BD.

i think its too easy to say, oh that shirt weave/color/collar is technically more formal and that suit is not CBD so they dont match. take a step back and just look at it. does it look good? if it does, thats really all there is too it. and if you really think it doesnt look good, is it really because you view one element as more formal than the other or is because you just dont like it? i think the latter makes more sense than saying, visually i like it, but i wont allow myself to like it because in my handy dandy guidebook i read some rule that i think contradicts what my eyes enjoy.

I was wondering when you'd notice! I'll probably get bored with shaving soon and grow it back. It was just bugging me last week, so out came the razor.

Yeah, I don't know how I can live with myself.

One of my colleagues told me yesterday that I look ten years younger, though, and I'm at an age where that's not really a bad thing.

BTW, StyleforumRobot is drunk and has pitted me against Caustic Man in a Fit Battle: http://www.styleforum.net/forum/newestpost/340186 I am so far unable to determine how the competitors are selected for this seemingly random series of threads.
