Though most should master the toned down/staple outfits first, I think.

I think they are very skinny to my taste. I like that the lapel covers a bit of the chest pocket.

I think it looks good. I use navy pants too.

Then I'm not expressing myself well enough. From the start I stated that it's my opinion, Foo express himself as if his opinions were rules, and in the last post I asked for your opinion on the matter. If that is being rigid, what is being flexible for you? [IMG]

Going back to the shirt collars. Well, it's true that old english man used rigid collars for all outfits, but there's a specific configuration (spread, point, etc...) for each venue? I'm truly interested on why you, and presumably others, find that those rigid collars are fine with casual suitings.

so...question is why i prefer this collar to a button down? because i like the collars better. simple as that. I dont adhere to rigid rules about a casual suit requiring a certain collar. its a suit. wear a dress shirt with it. Like ive said, i consider OCBDs to be very casual. id never wear em with a tie, let alone a suit. Typically, i dont like button down collars. why? because i dont like them. no reason, i didnt read it in a rule book, i didnt find the reason on the internet. it wasnt mentioned in a foo thread. I pick what i like based on the whether or not I like it.

That's very possible, the thread, not Foo's taste, matches my own taste better than what is usually posted here, which could justify my lack of ideas on how to wear that jacket in a satisfactory way.
When I see a casual jacket, my first thought is a light blue BD (not necessarily OC) and, IMO, it's right 90% of times, but I'd not wear such a loud jacket and hence my logic could very well not be applicable to a good amount of those loud jackets, because I'm simply not interested in them. However, even if I'd not wear them myself, I see value on this exercise, specially when I'm wrong, because, then, the learning curve is much better.

    Oh boy, this is exhausting.
