Think Mrs. Spoo would take the pics to memorialize the event?

Who made this jacket? Is it English? Ninety-nine percent of the time, English implementation of patch pockets and open quarters doesn't look right. In this case, the pockets are a bit too small and far too high up from the hem (a constant issue). The quarters look too open, but that could be because of how you are standing. However, they are certainly too aggressively rounded off. The latter would be slightly less obvious if not for the fact that everything else about the jacket is very straight instead of curved.

The overall proportions of the jacket are pleasing. I just think some of the styling choices simply don't integrate well.

Thank you, a million times over, for the more normal lapels.

You don't like them, the peaks? :(

It's Hackett - English cloth but made in Italy. I've got quite wide hips and some jackets tend to flare out at the bottom. On this particular jacket - the flare was very noticable.

One thing we tried was to sew the vents a little further down. The flare disappeared somewhat but the alteration pulled the bottom away slightly - opening up the quarters a bit more than desired. The overall result was a lot better than what I started out with but definitely far from perfect...

Running the risk of pulling a timotune and posting literally the same outfit every day, here's what I wore yesterday. Perhaps this DB jacket is the only thing I think SF members want to see in my regular rotation. Pics taken on my bourgeois third-level apartment balcony.

These are two good examples of when wearing a pocket square detracts from what is an otherwise nice outfit. When the color, pattern, or texture of a pocket square is incongruent with the rest of the outfit, just leave it out. These pocket squares just don't go with the rest of the outfits. Your eyes are drawn to them and away from the rest of the clothes. There's no harmony with all of the elements.

Also, patterned pocket squares with these types of folds almost never look right.

I like pocket squares. They can enhance an outfit, but they shouldn't be forced when they just don't work.
