You decided to name yourself after the most mediocre possible shoe, I don't know what gives you the right to talk shit on anyone.

if they're so mediocore, why is there a 150+ page thread on them?

nm, it's just 150 pages of people trying to look mediocore.

It still blows my mind the Clarks DB thread is so long. What the hell could possibly need discussing for that long?

    Often imitated never duplicated.

BTW I just purchased my first pair after coming across that thread following a google search. I just quickly made my ID as I didn't think I'd post anywhere else here but the site has started to appeal to me.

I saw clarks dbs on someone for the first time recently and i was really mesmerized by how cartoony they look. I kept doing double and triple takes because it looked like a real shoe at first but kept confusing my expectations. Also they were green

While we're at it, though, I'll also finger GATs as being equally banal and groupthinky.

The preppier stuff will probably fade before other 'heritage.'
Dressing like a lumberjack to go to your graphic design gig will certainly fade.

But the basics of 'heritage' never went away, and I don't see why they would now. Good boots, well-fitted straight leg jeans, leather goods, etc. have always been stylish if you wear them right.

my litmus test is, anything I can't instantly figure out why something is so popular is a trend that will soon be out, then back in a few years, then out again.

trendy = anything flannel, anything lumberjack, anything chambray, any $300 jeans you can't wash, $400 Indy boots

lasting = shell cordovan longwings and PTB's, O'Connells Made in USA OCBD's,

    heritage x trad = lasting
    heritage x fashion = trendy

Your misspelling is the best possible word I would use to describe the J Crew Crowd.

MEDIOCORE! A group of dudes who want to look as regular as possible, so they spend hundreds of dollars and dozens of forum-hours trying to achieve TOTAL MEDIOCRITY.

e.g. : Hey dog, I went to Atelier today and they're stocking this guy, what's his name, Todd Shelton? Didn't look like much to me but the hype is crazy. They must be trying to cater to the mediocores.

    In a nutshell:

    Are DBs good in snow?

Why do my crepe soles look so gnarly?
