My question is about the fit of these two vests. I love them but am worried they may be a bit too big. To the experts: please see what you think. To get them to fit the way I like, I have to pull the belt in the back as tightly as you see in the photographs. Questions: 1. Are the vests too big, thus requiring me to tighten the back too much? Or, is this bunching proper and to be expected. 2. If so, by how much should the vest measurements be altered? How much do they need to be taken in? In the waist or the chest? 3. Is this an alteration that can be done? (The vests have are undarted.) Grazie mille, Z pics 1. [IMG] [IMG] 2. [IMG] [IMG]

I'm not an expert on alterations, but these do appear to be slightly too large in the chest. I don't see why a tailor couldn't just take them in on the sides a bit. If they can do it with my suit coats, they can certainly do it with a vest.

Right, I think what they would do is probably take in the silk part in the back.

I have determined that I think they need to come in around 1 1/2 to 2 inches total. (I'm around a 36 chest if that helps give some perspective.)

    Thanks

The SB vest looks significantly too long, and too big below the waist. I think vests look best with a waist: a little swell in the chest, and a taper through the waist.

I think the second vest fits better, but I wonder about those ripples. A little swell is a good thing, but that rippling concerns me. Perhaps there is no interlining in that vest?
