Have you ever received a returned wallet this way?

I had just landed in Montreal and deplaned. It was about 10 steps out of the gate that I heard my name called on the PA to report back to the gate. I was promptly handed back my wallet, contents untouched, by the woman at the counter. I guess it slipped out of my pocket onto the seat during the flight, and another passenger or flight attendant noticed it. Not having any bank cards, credit cards or cash for strippers would've killed the trip. Since then, I try to pay it forward as much as possible.

That guys an effing douche..you should've taken his cash and mailed back his cut up license. What a show of appreciation.

That's just not my way. My handing him the $20 was a way of letting him know that I wasn't dependent upon taking the small amount of money in his wallet.

In any event ... I'm sure his manner provides plenty of obstacles in his life ... or did at the time. Personally I like to think he changed.

Be my guest, Reggs. Lets fact it ... $20 didn't really improve his life ... and it certainly didn't hurt mine. What you find in my wallet -- at most -- might help one live a bit better for a few weeks to a month ... but its loss isn't going to set me back one bit.

In loosing a wallet -- as far as I'm concerned -- it's not the loss of cash that's the issue for me ... it's the loss of time ... the time it takes in replacing what was in there (identification cards, bank cards, photos, etc.) that were in the wallet.
