has AE Del-Ray recently changed? The split toe seems shorter, some pics led me to believe the split

I just received a pair of Del Rays, much to my disappointment. I just returned a LaSalle after holding onto it for 3 months, deciding not to keep it.

The split toe stitching is recessed a bit on the DR vs the LS which is more my liking but what i didnt like was the pictures of the DelRay looked more balanced than the LaSalle.

The Lasalle, the mock toe was not recessed back enough like what iwas lead to believe the Del Ray would be of the pics i saw on the AE site.

I see what you mean. If that's a dealbreaker, then it's just not the model for you. I doubt that it's a quality control issue.

Hmm deviation is really significant. I used to own a pair of Delrays and they looked similar to the "photos" on the AE website. Either AE changed the style and forgot to update its website or they sent you crap. Just another reason not to buy from them anymore...

it's very odd, i just searched ebay and out of the del rays that are being sold, some look line mine, some look like what i want.

i had emailed AE about two days ago but haven't heard back. i will have to call them up, hopefully whomever i speak to can understand what im referring to.

i got another pair and put it side by side... see the difference... now my only question right now is, has that top flap of upsidedown U shaped leather 'vamp?' always been as wide as these two look? I thought it was subtle and about 1/3" narrower throughout.

Compared to the photos on the AE website, the shoes abc5 has received are frankly saying hideous. Those are a travesty of a split toe. They look like the La Salle by the way.

yes exactly... i did by the lasalle in July, and sent it back (to Nordstrom) because I didnt like that top leather being so forward, it made the lasalle look so unbalanced, and the DelRay looked (in pictures, so balanced) so I went with the Del Ray... as you can imagine my shock and confusino when I got the DelRay.
