No men's shoe should include coin storage, bows, tassels, or synthetic stretch fabric.

    A shoe-phone is allowable.

That's a pretty narrow approach to what qualifies as men's footwear. How do you feel about Velcro?

ACK! Also no velcro. I can't believe I forgot to include that "not okay" item on the list.

Also let's expand the "okay" list to include any type of weapon or spy equipment.

Can someone tell me what the appeal of selvedge chino is? What makes this better/different/worse the typical Gustin chino?

It just means, at least theoretically, that the material is better.

Yes, the only (style) benefit would be to cuff them and show off dat selvedge ID. Otherwise, I wonder if people NOT 'in the know' just think we're wearing pants that are not the right size/length...? :O

    my mistake.

I meant to say the rise is 1" too long, not the inseam which is easily fixable as you note

I think it's fine if anything, maybe even short. Gustin's straight fit is more fashion forward than other brands.

my issue isnt fashion based - its body type based. The rise is simply too long to fit me comfortably, and would also look bad as it would bunch up.

I think the rise on the classic fit could be a little longer.

At the same time it is fashion based. What did men with your body type do before low rise pants? I would consider Gustin's classic fit to be lower rise than standard.

I am going to assume that is a serious question and answer it as such.

I have used a variety of other options for lower rise products, including the following:

    Italian trousers such as Rota
Decent tailors can make this fit easily
Bonobos works well, too, for casual stuff

    Not familiar with Rota.

Serious, but kind of rhetorical question.

Don't know too much about tailoring, but I would think changing the rise of a pair of a pants would be a pretty involved alteration and not typical.

Bonobos, IMO is pretty fashion forward too, maybe more fashion forward than brands like Gap and Banana Republic.

Anyone know the composition of the Gustin Woolrich Woodsman CPOs in buffalo check? Such as the red/black version posted now.

The description neglects to state the composition calling it just "wool".

I suspect its 85% wool / 15% nylon. Does someone have one from last year to check the tag?

Also I suspect these are dry clean only.

But I am considering channeling my inner lumberjack. Or maybe I'm just cold right now.

Who's in one those nice looking Merino sweaters (email invite only)?

Too rich for my blood at the moment, but they certainly do look great.
