does anybody do these? anything good or bad to say about them?

I do a lot of solo excersize, and some martial arts group classes, and a yoga group class, but never any group excersize classes as such. I have access to a bunch of them, both through my gym and my boxing gym.

any thoughts?

if you like martial arts classes with lots of sparring and physical contact. they are better than private classes or go well along side them. but for general conditioning i cannot see the possible benefits except in the case of medicine ball drills.

yeah, I do group martial arts classes, and I box with a personal coach, I am trying to see if there is value to other classes, which I don't have personal experience with.

i will be repeating myself but the only benefit that is apparent to me is if there is a class the specifically is about medicine balls drills. everything else for GC can be done alone. unless you are like woman and have a desire to to make small talk while you work out.:D

All groups are not created equal. Since majority of people who tend these classes vary in skill level; they will either hold you back or vice versa. However, they are exceptions. They are certain exercises that works better in groups while other exercises works better in private sessions. So what classes are you looking into exactly?
