My gloverall duffle is the best winter jacket I've ever owned.

I know exactly what you mean. It definitely doesn't look bad, and if you like the little bit of roominess and drape, there is no need to really mess with it.

It's a purty darn gon cold down here in DC. I considered a parka because:
    - winds are killing me
    - standing in line waiting as a slug is killing me (carpool)

At this point, I'd just wear my PUMA jacket that looks like this...

You can hardly call that an overcoat. Suitsupply has a nice DB wool/cashmere one, and NMWA has the Eidos overcoats on sale. The coats on unbel's website are nice too, albeit a bit expensive. Just make sure you get a DB one, as it's much warmer than SB.

Noodles, aesthetics aside, that coat looks thin. There is no shortage of warm coats out there. Find a cheap one to get you through this season, then take some time to get a long-term solution.

Those Eidos overcoats on NMWA are amazing. I want one so badly it hurts.

Perfect--so since you're married, pull the trigger on one.

Agree the coat looks thin and he can do better. Not sure if buying a cheap one to get through winter is worth it though when we're already into February. If Noodles has survived thus far, he can wait to get a good long-term solution for next year and just suck it up for the remainder of winter.

Exactly, since once is all you need anyways.

    SIDE QUESTION:
My boss' boss got a big @ss promotion (will be 2nd highest in the company) and it is highly likely that my boss will also get a promotion. What will happen to me?
    a) Nothing. A replacement will come in and fill the position left void by my boss.
    b) Get promoted.
    c) Get fired.

Um...more like I am doomed. The people above me have stuff from Jos.A.Banks and Menswearhouse. They do drive nice cars though.

Only you know, man. Unless you're qualified and in a position to also move up I'd say the mostly likely outcome is A.

Are you in good standing with them? Will it benefit them to take you along for the ride, so to speak?
