@in stitches, not promoting the idea myself (I am in the white linen or bust camp). Just seemed apropos considering some of the discussion.

    This just happened:

Son: Are you on the internet? Are you on Facebook?

    Me: No.

Son: (Looks over my shoulder) Oh, yeah. You're on your "suits academy"

    Me: :embar:

Walking in on your dad browsing StyFo: More awkward than that time you walked in on your parents doing the deed.

Excuse this time: "I got linked here accidentily - never seen this site in my life!"
Excuse last time: "Mommy and daddy are just 'wrestling'"

why are you guys calling SF the "suits academy"?

Is that supposed to be a more descriptive name?

    Me thinks you meant me?

Had my follow up appointment with Proper Suit. Unfortunately they missed my first follow up appointment a couple weeks ago and as a gesture of good faith to me are making me a pair of trousers to make up for it. I guess I have a way of making people feel bad enough to offer me free things. It was a kind gesture and one that I think at least deserves a second shot at a SC. So we narrowed down my issues/measurements from the first one, wider shoulders, lower button point and a hair shorter of sleeves as well as a little looser in the waist. That being said I'm looking at a second SC from them and thinking about a SC in this. I know it's not a staple but is this too flashy or Good/bad/ugly? I'm drawn to it but I probably should get something more staple'ish.

Also later down the road was thinking this fabric, Guabello, into a double breasted suit, rice roped shoulders and wide peak lapels :slayer: . I'm probably shooting for the stars but He offered a marketing discount if I were to write a review about my experience with them so for this fabric full DB suit would be $1100 after discount.

Decisions decisions. Spending money I don't even have yet.

Those look like they should be a part of a suit, not a jacket. It is an expensive mistake to make. Trust me.

Clags are you saying you're regretting getting a navy windowpane jacket?

How about that lighter blue Caruso I sent you? Should I hold off?

I think the 'pane works better for earthy color SC's

A navy colored windowpane fabric is evocative of suiting

It isn't that I regret it. I have enough jackets in my wardrobe that I don't mind getting niche pieces. But it is a lot less versatile finished than it was in my head. Actually, the moment I opened up my package from Minnis I knew. Lighter would have definitely been better. I have several windowpanes that work well as odd jackets. They are all lighter and the windowpane more pronounced.

I think I'm going to abort the mission on that blue windowpane I had picked out

A slubby solid blue jacket would be a better choice

    More 'pane

It only really works, in my opinion, on the brown (Drapers?). I know that fit of Butler's was a big hit, but I didn't feel it.
