This? Otherwise, I am not seeing the tie above.
150 ties?! holy macaroni and cheese! I have like less than 20. Five of which is despised by SF.

Two thoughts that came to my mind this morning as I walked thru the Capitol Hill...everyone is where dark navy suits or black suits along with red or blue tie. I also saw a bunch of yellow ties and blue shirts. I don't know what it is about this city but there seems to be something like the need or want to conform to the majority. (Maybe sort of like the Korean businessmen).

I tried on the brown neat that I recently purchased and wondered, maybe this aint the best colour for me (someone with my complexion or skin tone). You white folks have a lighter skin tone so the brown tie is fine but I think it is a different story for me. This is just a random thought that I had while I was looking in the mirror. Just a thought.

Noodles, I told you to get burgundy. Did you get burgundy yet? It will work with your skin tone. Just like the brighter-than-I-would-choose green. So will rust, and yes, even yellow (but go mustard, not custard). Just stick to the plan. Burgundy. Now.

The brown is fine though. You're just not used to it.

Believe it or not, Clags helped me a lot cause I used to have a lot of "suit-y" ties. [IMG]

I did pick this one up for $40 earlier this week or last week and you yelled at me for going with something that was not approved by the Council. I am really not feeling the brown but then again I do have this nice grenade from Sam Hober that seems to be quite versatile.

Yeah, HC mentioned that the color was pretty inaccurate on the site and he'll be retaking pictures.

Another picture (I'm on the fence about picking up the green)

Radials (autocorrect, but it stays), you just need to get used to it. Chocosa posted an excellent brown tie look couple days back, and he's black. Betel, you're Hispanic--what's your take on brown tie on darker skin

Edit: that brown grenadine is the best tie in your stable. You could go all Foo and order the 3 different browns of the four different grenadines from Hober

All in favor. Rudals I think that with the blue suits you have and the shirts you can use, due to your work, brown is the most versitile color. Or forest green. [IMG]

That one looks very nice too! I love the brownone with white dots.

Noodles, the brown grenadine is fine, but your problem is you're all solids, so although it's a nice tie, it's not going to star once you start following good advice here. I like it, it stays, but a neat will be better.

As for the spotty wine, it's OK, but you're still an idiot for getting it when you'd just been recommended a dozen better ones. Get a better one. Now. And stop impulse-buying mediocrities that are similar to ones you have out of insecurity. You have to step off the cliff. Buy that burgundy challis neat from Drake's and the ground will rise up to meet you.

    Gotta love Mimo's honesty.
I totally agree with you and I will not do it again.
What burgundy challis from Drake's? I gotta find that link. I will order that fine PoA.

I did consult with my psychologist (fiance) last night about my impulsive tie purchasing habit and she said that it comes from always wanting others' approval due to past emotional issues...but basically she told me to calm the $hit down and be more patient with everything.

Here is a truly magnificent challis from Drake's. Link is here. I'm not sure if it's the same one I showed you before, but frankly if you can't be bothered to go back and look, neither can I. I think some of those recommended to you from Exquisite Trimmings and No Man Walks Alone are sold out now. Anyway, this is a peach, and on sale.

Alternatively, here are a few foulards, from NMWA, ET, and Drake's direct:

Very hard-wearing and versatile. Personally I like the one from NMWA best, and the second Drake's on (the last one above), next. But that challis is sex.

Yup. Brown is fine especially dark rich browns (reddish browns). Yellow not so much (yellowish browns no)

Yes. not sure why you're worried about browns Rudals (i.e. don't worry about it [IMG]).

Quote: She sounds like a keeper.[IMG] Plus she's smart enough to know you're cutting into the ring budget!

(And sorry, should multiple quote it).

Any of the browns in the last set of pics would be great, though less sure about the gingham. Burgundy looks good too.
