I feel like something should be said here regarding opinion and knowledge. Perhaps some sort of quote would capture my meaning. Unfortunately I can't think of any right now. Oh well, nothing to do about it.

Ah, yes. And some sort of pun about corrosive nature of expressing unsolicited opinion, especially those whose content is explicitly grounded in ignorance.

I know some find Caustic to be an asshole, but this seems much ado about nothing in my view.

I didn't really see anything silly or negative about his initial post.

San Francisco IS weird, in the sense that it is different...though I would argue that's one of its many charms. One of my favorite places to visit, but I could never live there...people of my political persuasions are not generally enjoyed there lol.

I much prefer option one if you are looking for versatility and aren't adding to an already deep collection of navy SC's. For that matter, I think I prefer option one absolutely.

I, too, wish they made Lazio jackets. I believe the Hudson is the odd jacket closest to the Lazio suit jacket in fit and structure (I own both Lazio and Hudson). With it's lack of structure the Havana jacket is a very different animal. Nothing wrong with that, but not much of a substitute for the Lazio if that's what you're looking for.

    Cheers,

I should add that despite similarities of fit and structure, the Hudson jacket differs from the Lazio in two important stylistic respects: it's got a patch breast pocket and pleated shoulders, neither of which of course is to everyone's taste.

Do Lazio and Hudson have similar buttoning points?

Lazio jackets only come with flap pockets, not patch. Just thought I'd mention that because that would be enough to make me not buy the suit just to use the jacket.

And, Clags, Lazio button stance is definitely lower but I don't know by how much.

I wouldn't. It would look like an orphan suit jacket. To be fair, some aren't bothered by that. (Edit: On the other hand, if you are going to wear an orphan jacket, a dark navy is your best bet since traditionally these often had flapped hip pockets, though the look doesn't get much love on SF.)

Because the market will bear it. Seriously.

    Cheers,

We had Romans during the Empire. Does that count?
