Just get a greenscreen, then you can shop yourself into Pitti backgrounds.

Very few men are into "classic wear" in Australia. The idea of wearing a tie through choice rather than necessity is appalling to most Aussie guys.

Semi-casual and high-end streetwear are therefore quite popular. (Having said that, 95% of men here have zero clue and just wear really, really bad clothes.) This would include knitwear and jumpers/sweaters in the colder months, particularly in Melbourne.

Have a look at @Gerry Nelson 's recent fits over on the CM Casual thread. You'll see him in that kind of clothing. I wear it too, but tend not to bother posting fits.

Coxy's right. Next to no one cares about quality tailored clothing, or how their clothes fit, here in Australia. Those days are, sadly, long gone for most, though I doubt Australia is unique in this respect.

You are correct. It is not unique.

Though I don't think people not caring about the quality of their clothes nor the fit is necessarily a bad thing, within reason. I'm not going to go as far as to endorse grown individuals (22+) wearing wifebeaters or pajamas outside.

"Asian man wifebeater pajamas" didn't bring up much on a Google Image search.

I also thought it was strange how people (though I expected it) were pointing to New Orleans in the context of style in the south. That is the exception that proves the rule, not the norm.

It's not the exception, but I think it's probably the pinnacle of Southern fashion. I don't think there's anything different about the south as compared to the rest of the US in terms of good or bad dress. regional styles differ, but considering the type of industry we have down south, I wouldn't say we are any different from any other place in the country, comparing similar city to similar city above and below the Mason Dixon line. Again, you find it strange that someone would point to NO as a Southern fashion pinnacle, and i find it strange that someone would assume they know anything about 15 or so states and 50ish million people that make up the South when their only real exposure to them is through television.

I've spent some time in Texas, and I'm afraid you crossed that line some time ago. This is basically what Texas sees when it looks at you:

It's their fault, not yours. But there you have it. So you might as well put up a seamless; it's easier than plywood anyway.

Commissioned my first bespoke pieces last weekend. Needed something to wear for summer and now I'm in the southern hemisphere I'm a little out of sync. A bit nervous about the whole process, but looking forward to it.

Decided to go with B&Tailor - a single-breasted suit in a lovely Dugdale 9oz mid-blue cloth; and a casual sports coat in a dark green Drapers linen hopsack

    Inspiration:

    Fingers crossed...
