I'd be happy to change the title and the opening post. I don't seem to have control of that (@LA Guy can you help?). I kind of like #styfodude, we'll get more hits on twitter. Or is "for grownups" too snooty.

@kulata you deserve a lot of credit for bringing that thread up, so happy if you suggest a name. Shall we discuss here or there?

I'm 5"5' and usually do 1.5 but just got a pair made with 1.75. Why? Because :slayer:

Working on the pics. Also beer.

Your hatred towards me aside, I always get "that is too wide" or "that is too old-fashion." So yes, I feel you there. I have gone into a tailor with 2" cuffs in mind and she somehow convinced me to go with 1.75".

"Hate" is a strong word. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Anyway, nice to see you back to contributing to sartorial banter.

I generally don't wear cuffs, but in my most recent (green) suit, I got 1.5 and I'm 5'10 barefoot

Do 1.75" and make sure you go into the tailor shop determined because they will try to talk you out of it.

6ft here and 1.75" on all my trousers. That's a compromise from 2.00" that I wanted.

BTW: Anyone who has had to deal with grad students during office hours at US universities will know that "Grad Lounge" could not possibly be pretentious. Tweedy professors, on the other hand...

Hi Ac, imo a slubby dk brown Shantung would be nice, like pic below (navy Fresco).
Hober doesn't do Shantung, but his rough silk might do the trick. There's no brown, but there is charcoal

edit: and a plum which would do navy well imo
