If you are able to find trees that will fit then you can certainly use them and they don't have to say Gaziano and Girling on the tree. Personally for shoes like Edward Green, John Lobb, and G&G I'll use their branded or Lasted trees but imagine there are many who probably do not if for no other reason than they are fairly expensive. Vass and St Crispins as well but their shoes tend to come with the trees. For me the branded or Lasted trees are part of the whole package and experience.

Less shoe trees = moar shoes.

I'd probably have 5 less EG/GG shoes if I bought one for all my shoes. I do think they looked pretty when they came varnished and were three pieces for boots. Now they barely look better than woodlore epics.

yea that is nice because i have never heard of that combined program for residency to fellowship before. I am familiar with the accelerated college to med school programs though. I went to Temple for med school (Philadelphia)
yea that is true. you can dress up everyday and not have to worry about getting messy at all.
I'm in foot/ankle surgery so that is how most people can accept my obsession with shoes, but i can only wear them during office hours and try to keep wound care days separate when possible. Then of course i just wear sneakers when in the OR. i won't take a chance at messing up my nice shoes in there. haha

i agree. If you can afford the lasted trees, they are well worth it and add to the experience/package of this high end level of footwear.

If I am paying 1000$ plus for a shoe might as well get a lasted tree or branded tree normall tree work too but lasted one work better depending upon the shoe for example whole cut I would want the shoe tree that will accommodate the whole shoe. But to each there own I have bought actual tree for all my G&G & EG shoes.

same idea here. for the major price paid already, what is an extra $100-150? It is worth it when breaking up the cost of the shoe over a few years.

With the amount of shoes I bought that would have been an extra 3-5k on trees in the past year and a half. To each his own though.

Different strokes for different folks, and I can certainly understand your reasoning. Good thing for me I'm only at the point it might have been about two more shoes at this point. LOL

But anyhow my method still works for me and when purchased in a more spread out fashion over time it's not as noticeable as when shoes are purchased in bunches of ten or more at a time. LOL

Yeah no kidding. If I only bought one shoe a year I'd get shoe trees. When you get 10 shoes at a time? Pass... Then again I should have passed on buying so many so fast, I can't really appreciate them when I get a new shipment every week... Curse the exchange rate. If the price had never dropped I would never have any EG and GG since it would have been out of my price range.

Heck for some who only buy one or two shoes a year the lasted or branded thing seems outrageous and doesn't work for them either.

Oh, by the way don't stop on our account, we're weirdos here and we enjoy the shoe porn. LOL

How in the heck did they end up in the wash machine?

Hopefully the IPad was in a waterproof case, or you had purchased some kind of insurance against accidental user damage.

Try to stuff paper in the shoes and dry them out naturally and not near any heat source.

What? I'm not sure what's going on but an Ipad and vass shoes in a washing machine is not a good sign... Sorry, that sucks. Bring the ipad to the store and ask how much to fix it. Take a photo of the shoes and ask in the shoe care thread.

You really cant do much with the shoes until they're dried out, but like I said you need to stuff them with paper and let them air out until they dry naturally. Once dried you'll probably need to condition them, and then try to apply polish.

IPad, waterproof case and hopefully it worked, or an accidental damage insurance are your two best bets. If neither of those attempt to dry, but its more than likely toast.
