Pin grain is so small it's hardly noticeable unless you are staring at the shoe. It's like my GG hatch grains. Look plain unless your staring at it. I would kop

To clarify, when I'm referring to length I mean where my ball is, not the toes. Toes feel fine in both shoes and mh71 is probably a little longer overall. In mh71, my ball is probably a little more forward on the ridge than I'd like.

As for narrowness, I don't know why the opposite experience if happening for justin. Probably foot shape and the more pronounced beveling has something to do with it.

I think just my experience through the toe box. The width and length across the ball of my foot is almost identical.

I also could make the comparison accurately now that I have close laced shoes not bluchers.

Regardless both feel almost comparable in terms of fit. Aesthetically it's i guess from the eye of the beholder. Instep is a whole different category. 888 has a higher I step (laces don't close all the way) where the MH71 has a lower instep (closes all the way).

Just for sake of putting it out there I'm not sure if my high vs low instep terminology was accurate so I put in the paranthesis what I meant by it

The more information the better and it sure helps to better understand what it might be like. Of course how a specific Last will fit will in the end come down to my foot.

    Thanks,

Pin grain is awesome, you should go for it or organize GMTO. See here http://www.styleforum.net/t/291745/...ures-info-and-where-to-buy/19755#post_7984796

I have the Moore a 1/2 size smaller than the St. James, so it would be an unfair comparison in terms of fit.

G&G has slightly better leather, tighter waist. I think the sole treatment are a tie. All based on my uneducated observations.

As far as overall aesthetics though I imagine the St James to be the winner in your opinion?

9.5FUK (Moore), should have taken a 10 or wider size. I am getting pinky toe crush or otherwise they fit great (reason I am selling). I wear 10EUK in G&G.

Yes, but the Moore would be perfectly fine if I didn't know about the St. James.

Understand, I already have a pair of AS Cherry Moores and I also find them to be a real nice pair of Adelaides.

    Thanks
