Ordered my first pair of G&G today from Nick. Pretty basic, Oxford in black calf on the MH71, but looking forward to it (in three months time) nonetheless!

My first pair of non-RLPL-branded G&Gs courtesy of Bespoke England.

    Very pleased.

Was concerned about the sizing but apparently RLPL and G&G's sizings have nothing to do with one another. [IMG]

Nice Antibes. Well, RL's version typically is a D width whereas G&G's standard width is E.

Do you believe they are consistent length sizing-wise and it's just a width issue?

The Antibes was an 11UK and fits perfectly (even a milimeter large) whereas RLPL Narvells were very tight @ an 12US.

I guess that could make sense as Narvells have a very narrow toe box anyhow.

Length is consistent. I own 6.5D and 6.5E in Loafers.

My thoughts too. Knew my finances could well be taking another hit as soon as I read the email from G&G.

If I walk in there and see any size 9s in vintage rioja...

Justin started a thread a few days ago that said C through G width :)

So who can proxy for a wide footed friend looking for his first pair of G&G and needs a 7.5/8 G

This thread has been slow. It seems the recent changes and pricing had an impact, at least in this thread.

I can be honest and say that i have been looking at other options as well. While i still plan to buy GG shoes, it will be in a more planned and limited fashion. I have reached my GG limit this year, and expect a Hove & Oakham to arrive in a few month's time. It would be nice to see some GMTO ideas though, but those are near impossible to get going nowadays...

I'm done with G&G. Quality to price ratio tipped in everyone else's favor

Sold my last pair last week. Not much to these EG ripoffs

Wow, did you not enjoy any of their shoes? Enough to sell the whole lot in retrospect?

They are a more fashion forward version of EG. But why are they more expensive?

GG lasts are really nice (haven't tried deco or GG06). But again that price bump and high hurdle for mto along with shoe tree requirement just annoyed me in principle. They are the worst value IMO next to alden calf and CJ Handgrade

What brands deliver the same combination quality of leather, construction and sleek styling?

Others appear to exceed in one category or another but I havent seen any that hit at high level of all 3.

Id love to hear of other contenders though!
