On your Barney's order, what sizing did you trust.. I normally fit a 10.5 UK G&G and on my pair of Sinatra wholecuts its dropped down to 10 UK. Considering the Biarritz loafers and am concerned what size is actually accurate? I remember the debacle with sizing a couple of months ago and am a bit nervous.

Am thinking that I am typically a us 11 and that the drop down to G&G UK sizing should only be a 1/2 size down?

    Any thoughts?

My experience with Barney's is that sizes listed on the site have been converted to the corresponding US shoe size and fortunately that was the case here. I'm a 10 so I ordered the 10 off the internet. The Barney's bar code stuck on the box has them listed as a 10 while the printing inside the shoe and on the G&G box mark them as a 9.5E. So, again, the 9.5 GG's are listed as 10 on the site.

As for different lasts requiring you to size up or down I have no clue as these are my first pair of G&G. My pair feel fairly true to size. They are a touch long but I'm really a small 10 and it's not an issue were I would consider sizing down. Hope that helps.

Barneys lists both the US and EU size for G&G.

Sometimes the UK sizing is off at Barneys. The G&G I ordered were labeled 10 US / 9 UK online but in actuality they are 10 US / 9.5 UK.

The US size is the accurate size listed.

Thanks.. That was what I was hoping to confirm.

Now just a question of whether I want to pull the trigger.

I wondered about that myself. Thanks for confirming that the US size is actually correct.

SUITED - what did you get?

ime, half size down for GG is the way to go.

but the US size is meaningless. its not a US made shoe. its just a conversion some dude made up. basically, barneys sizes down a half size from US to UK, not a full size like their site suggests. so whatever UK size you need in GG, buy a half size larger in the listed US size on their site. that should get you the proper fitting shoe. again, ime.

Their sizing guidance just stinks basically.

I'm glad I got my first pair from Leffot, they were right on.

    Thanks Stitches.

I visit Leffot probably far more often than I should.

Let me contribute my two cents worth to this discussion: I have both the wholecut Sinatra and the (wholecut) Chelsea boot Burnham, both on the DG73 last. Both purchased from Leffot. But for whatever reason, when I tried both pairs on I was a half size smaller with the Sinatra than the Burnham. Again, same last.

I also have the Rothschild on the DG70 so clearly that's a different last but I have it in the same size as the Burnham.

So for whatever reason the Sinatra fits better - for me - a half-size down.

my GGs are on the 71 and the 73, and an 11UK is perfect for me in both. due to the barneys size issue the ones i have in the 73 are an 11.5 and i need a dr schols insert to make them fit, an 11 would be right on the money. at least they were not too small.

Yeah, Barney's G&G feel generous in the toe box. Not enough to size down, atleast not in my case, but very confortable nonetheless

I believe you cannot (for the most part) go wrong with this sizing help. It works very well for me.
