Haha, might sound weird but i don´t to wear my Canterbury with single leather sole in the snow and salt. My winter boots are CJ Nothcote and Loake Pimlico, then i have some boots from Lundhags (trekking boots).

That makes sense in your climate. And especially makes sense in regards to the salt.

Where I live spring means loafers with no socks. At it barely gets cold enough in the winter here to need even light boots.

while I know that model/size are critical price determinants would I be right to assume that like for like (give me some latitude here) EG's sell for higher price than similar model/size G&G's or do I need to reduce my asking price for the G&Gs because they are not EGs?

NOTE: Personally I prefer EGs (sorry [IMG]) but on 8 UK G&G's is what I have for sale

well frank, and everyone else here who has helped me out and kept track of my saga, here is my silver lining story. :)

nick @ bespoke had emailed me out of the blue, when i fist posted my issue, and said i should get a pair of full sock insoles made by G&G. and that if the shoes were only slightly large, they could very possibly take care of the problem, by eliminating some of the space inside the shoe. as always, he walked me through the process, patiently as ever, and pair of socks are on the way to me now, along with a pair of trees i purchased from him.

in case i was not clear enough before, nick is the freaking man. had he not stepped in, i would have had to either return the shoes, or have shoes that were ill fitting. both were options i did not want to chose. i am pretty sure based on how the shoes fit now, that the socks will take care it. they are just a hair loose as it is, and i am confident that thanks to nicks help, i will be able to keep and enjoy the shoes.

    THANK YOU NICK!!!

on top of that, after it was posted about the further price drop, i called barneys, gave some poor fellow and earful about what happened, and he went ahead and refunded the difference between what i paid and the new sale price, even though that is against their general policy of only offering adjustments to items bought at regular price and within 7 days or purchase.

i am now pretty sure i will be keeping the shoes and they will fit me. so, without further ado, here they are.

IMHO, The full insole liners should do it. Nick had some made for my Decos and they fixed the problem. Glad to hear you bought the lasted trees for them. These should should have proper trees.
