it is a metal toe tap that lies flat with the leather sole, not placed on top of it. looks nicer, and is more comfortable to walk on. :)

My St James II

Looks awesome, the St. James is one of my favorite models.

On the internet, much can be lost in translation. Clarification was done and "Mea Copa" was expressed.
For those that have done MTO, do you know if BE can do flushed taps?

Anyone can actually do those, it's a MTO option (and a surcharge of course).

Contacted Nick to start the process of getting my Wigmore boots. Not a bad first shoe from G&G! Sadly it will take about 3 months to make. This fall will be spectacular: G&G Wigmore (hopefully), AS whiskey shell Ramsey, AS cognac shell Miller, Alden whiskey shell LWB, Alden whiskey shell wing tip boot, and Alden ravello shell Day Tripper.

Yeah, I think I should be good for the next decade... :slayer:

I'm not the biggest fan of boots, but the wigmore are absolutely fantastic. Great choice!

That's a shoe orgy there.

I luvz my Alden whiskey LWB.

Kinda heavy on the light colors? No?

Not that I don't really like light colored shell.

Do you already have the AS shell shoes in hand or are they on order? I am very impressed with the one pair of AS Exclusives that I own - would be very interested in seeing how well they work in shell.

And lastly - you indeed will not NEED any more shell shoes for more than a decade. But in my experience need has little to do with it.
