    Nice. What last? I can't tell I'd it is DG70 or GG06.

    Berry Nioce!

    Have you worn them yet?

I'd be very interested in your thoughts on a comparison of G&G to Vass.

And yes, service from Nick at Bespoke England is always superlative.

    Thanks!

Thank you sir. No, I received them this week. Vass is my favorite of all, Vass leather quality is the same or even nicer and I like the lasts more. I also prefer the soles of Vass shoes. It's the best value at less than half the price of G&G.

G&G's are so elegant and refined, colors are beautiful. I'm not a fan of most the lasts but I love the MH71 last and the fit is as perfect as my Vass, the shoe trees are great and they have so many nice models, I really like the westminster in vintage chestnut for example, or one of the loafers. I also like to deal with people like Nick. I only own a couple of pairs but I hope this is not the last one. :D

I don't know about construction and I don't care really, both look very well made to me.

Thanks, this is the Kent in vintage cherry, MH71 last.

^ The vintage cherry model i tried on looked a lot more light brown than your deep red, which i would prefer the version in your pics. Is the vintage cherry in your pics accurate to the color of your shoes in person?

Yes, they are darker than I thought, I was expecting the color to be lighter and brighter red. I like the darker tone.

They look a bit darker than my vintage cherry with chestnut pingrain as well.

In real life they are pretty much full on deep, rich, RED!

    rikod - those are fantastic!

    ---

sole question - what would you all say is the best sole for durability, but will still look nice with say, a black calf or cordovan loafer. i want a new shabbos shoe, and i do a ton of walking on shabbos, which really wears down the center of the sole and toe of shoe. i need a sole that will accomodate a lot of walking and not get worn to quick, but will still look classy.

    best bets?

    thanks!

    Thanks!

A single or double JR soles, for loafers I prefer single. That is what Vass and Allen Edmonds cordovan uses and I love those soles.

These are really nice. The combination leather Oakham is becoming the signature double strap monk shoes of G&G and Nick's customers in particular. I have two different ones in two different combination leathers in TG73 last and a third is underway in a different last.
