I believe you mean to say that "wedding shoes" should not be that color. I would say that it depends on the wedding. We aren't having a formal affair, but, rather, are getting married on a farm. amongst friends and family who are being encouraged to dress relatively casually. Hard to argue that brown doesn't belong on a farm and I can't think of anything about exchanging rings, kissing, or dancing that would require black shoes. But, it is my first wedding, so I could be wrong.

something along these lines. now i remember the story. a lot of people married since i joined sf. not everyone announced it, though.

imo, there's a fine line between relatively casually and not appropriate for a wedding. i couldn't bring myself wearing brown shoes with a navy suit. will not happen.

iirc, these shoes mean a lot to you and are affiliated with the whole ceremony. this is all what matters. tbh, i hope they fit...

Why do you want them in poster size? Some members might still be on a dial-up connection: then It takes forever and ever
for those big pictures to load.

not much more needs to be said. in terms of styling, JLs are much more "english" to me...calssic styles. G&Gs are a little more aggressive, sharper lines, etc....Lobbs are nice, but G&Gs are sexy. kinda like comparing the girl next door with the great rack to kate upton. ;)

I agree to most of it.

One of the most important things is to try the different lasts to see which of them suits you more if we are talking RTW.

John Lobb Prestige and G&G RTW for me are in line in terms of quality. My only concern with G&G is that the sole wears out pretty quickly but they are so great that I don't care.

G&G lasts and styles are more modern and John Lobb more classic. I prefer the latter for a wedding for example and G&G for everyday use.

Of course you have some G&G that are conservative:

    And some modern Lobbs:

So both of them are cool, so you should choose taking into account the model you like, not the brand.

All depends on your foot and which lasts fit you best. JL has access to more leather than G&G.

G&G have more aggressive designs while JL tends to have designs that are far better balanced, IMO. For classic styles, it all really depends; i.e., G&G Oxford > JL City but JL Williams > all G&G monkstraps.

    Construction wise, its all gemmed.

Some great Deco's just collected for a client today. Joyce in Chestnut Antique Alligator & the same style in Dark Brown Antique Alligator, both pairs finished by Tony Gaziano to the clients requested colours.

Nik!! Man it is good to see you back again!

Can I assume your "busy" weekend is over and that it is back to selling those G&G beauties in earnest again?

I will PM to discuss details if you don't mind Nik, hopefully we can finalize an order just as soon as you have attended to that client who bought the crocodile farm!
