Thinking about the oak asquith and/or the black chelsea... may also ask them if they can get the galway.

If this happens, I'm going to ban myself from SF for the rest of the year.... :brick:

Guys, I thought you might like to know that I clicked on the "Contact us" button last night and, after exchanging several emails with Mark Firth at Edwards of Manchester, I ordered a stock model EG Westminster (double monk) at the 20% off discounted price and without VAT, even though it isn't listed among their current stock. Since EG doesn't have my size in stock it will take about 6 weeks for delivery, but the price (shipped) of ca. $705 is less than I could get on ebay, if the shoes ever appeared.

Let the feeding frenzy begin (with apologies to those of you guarding your wallets).

You might as well go for it. I would not be surprised if Edward Green pulls Alfred Sargent and prohibits sales outside of the certain region.

Dude, do I need a few more EGs? I just had a spree recently... Will they only do the style/color combination from their selection or they can do any of the current selections from the EG catalogue?

FWIW, I have these and they are great. Worth buying at full whack, but those are an amazing bargain.

They do have the Galway in Dark Oak / Mink Suede on the 82 last. They should be able to get a different combination for you as well.

If you ring or e-mail "Mark Firth" and tell him "Roger from London" referred you, he will sell you other models without the upcharge, no questions asked. "Roger from London" is an ex policeman who is now apparently an exclusive fashion advisor.

I had a pair in Oxblood, so I know how good they look. I had to get rid of them because they were too large. Wintip was my point of reference when I made my post. I purchased a pair, it was a no-brainer once I realized I'd save $400

Yup, at that price it is a no brainer, but after trying on a St James II I can't get myself to take that final leap, even at this bargain price.

The "chocolate" Miller would be nice tho!

Was considering the grant but it is an F on the TG73. If the EG E888 fits me great I'm afraid a G&G F will be too wide... I guess I might have to pass on the Grant and get the C&J Weymouth instead...

I simply asked Mark Firth for an "E" fitting and he e-mailed me back confirmation saying "done"
