God Entity: Bender, being God isn't easy. If you do too much, people get dependent on you. And if you do nothing, they lose hope. You have to use a light touch, like a safecracker or a pickpocket.

Bender: Or a guy who burns down a bar for the insurance money.

God Entity: Yes, if he makes it look like an electrical thing. If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Will always remember this quote/dialogue. One of the most poignant episodes of Futurama and dare I say, television.

Simpsons in its prime > Futurama, although not by much. Both are great shows in my opinion. It's not like we're comparing either of these 2 shows to Family Guy, let's not go there.

As one other poster said you have to be a little older to enjoy futurama, i think they are really different and at the same time equal. Enjoy both more than Family Guy.

We need rest. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy and bruised.

my wife and i just watched it yesterday... they kinda copied an old, and true, japanese story about a dog and his master (Hachikō), but I only realized it towards the end. my wife was just bawling towards the end... i was saying to myself "holy shit that was good"...

Honestly, was not that impressed with the two season premier episodes. The plots were both interesting, but execution fell way short. Maybe it will take a re-watch to grasp them.

Some of the jokes were hilarious.

I like the new episodes simply by virtue of being more Futurama. It's hard for me to compare to any older episodes since it's at a consistent high as a series minus a few eps at the beginning of season 6 (like the puking goat and the eyePhone. FFS this isn't South Park or Family Guy). This season the time travel episode was incredible I thought. As long as the occasional really good episode comes around and the rest are watchable then I'm happy. I just love the series too much.

I thought the gender episode started out okay but became way too wacky towards the end. I much preferred the Bender episode. Enjoyed Zapp's appearance in both!

First two episodes sucked. The gender bender ep was an attempt to spoof older sci-fi story lines, most notably several from Star Trek.

The two new episodes were a bit flat in parts but I still think they were good overall. I'd rather watch average futurama than most of what else is on TV right now.

Yeah that was a great episode- funny, but also dark and sad. Those kind of episodes are their best. I think Jurassic Bark and 7 Leaf Clover would fall in this category as well. For a comedy show, some of the endings are very poignant. That makes it problematic to compare it to something like Simpsons, which has a sarcastic outlook on the world, but isn't nearly as dark.
