Saw it on video. Magnificent. Anyone else notice the Turnbull & Asser shirts and ties?

OK - I'm a year late, but I finally saw this film.

Great movie. Loved the part about how shoes should have laces.

Were Nixon's shoes AE Park Avenues?

Not very, I doubt Nixon , one of my idols, would ask how was the **** per example.

The movie presents him as a very neurotic person with double personallity and big amnesia. Was the writter another of those Hollywood histeric commies or something?

IDK, that seems exactly like the sort of question he would ask to throw off his opponent, after all tricky dick was a really smart man. An asshole, but intelligent nonetheless.

As a matter of fact, that's exactly the type of thing Nixon would have done. According to what I've read, sometimes it was calculated, but he could also be very unsure and awkward one-on-one and sometimes said/asked strange, inappropriate things.

They say he was so socially awkward that he would say dumb things occasionally to try to fit in with the guys.
Hmm - sound familiar.

Didn't he give Elvis some kind of a special agent badge?

I was fortunate to see this performed 3 years ago at the Gielgud in London and yet have still not viewed the film. I was expecting that someone in this thread would have been able to provide a comparison

It's quite the compelling story, beguilingly performed
