Looking forward to seeing what combinations folks come up with.

PS hope we don't just see lots of silver tie (plaid or otherwise)/sky blue shirt with dark suit combos. Let's have some variety!!

sometimes the most obvious choice is indeed the best choice.

What about silver tie/white shirt, Doc? That's stepping out, right? :)

I may use a tie with a gray ground. Essentially the same idea as silver. :)

First outing for this tie and the suit now that I have had the jacket tailored - and the temperatures are unseasonably warm. I think it fits almost perfectly, however the trousers, while almost exactly right in terms of length have enough material left to have at least 1.5" cuffs, so I think I will have them altered...

Strangely, it is also the lightest coloured tie I have here. I have several other lighter-coloured ties back home in Ontario. Conrad's site described the tie as being perfect with a light-coloured jacket, and indeed that is how I intented to wear it, but the French blue is also very nice with dark brown, I think and that is how I decided to wear it today and not just for the sake of the challenge.

Details:
Pal Zileri Abito Privato lightweight brown with blue pinstripe tropical wool suit
CT Black Label white self-stripe shirt
Conrad Wu Oxford weave French blue triple-striped silk tie
David Andersen mid-century Norwegian sterling silver tie bar
Anonymous vintage handmade Japanese yello silk square with olive edging
Gaziano & Girling Rothschilds in dark oak (with unseen navy blue socks)

PS: someone once said I was the splitting image of EFV - I think, looking at these pictures that I am perhaps more like the bastard lovechild of EFV and Cleav... ;)

If that's true, I'm trying to figure out which one of the gentlemen spent nine months gestating you. Did you emerge from the womb with the beard? Inquiring minds want to know . . . :D

Oh, I guess that means that Cleav did the honours, then . . .
